Kiva is a non-profit organization based out of the Bay Area in California. They are the first peer-to-peer microfinance lending organization on the web. As their partner, we find poor entrepreneurs in Ecuador that are in need of capital for their business. We post these potential clients to their site where the online community funds them. Once the borrowers have repaid, Kiva returns the money to the lenders who funded the business.

mForta Logo

mForta is our sister organization based in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The staff at mForta is in charge of marketing our products and offering other services that benefits microentrepreneurs. Currently, mForta and Mifex have launched a training center that provides courses that teach aspiring entrepreneurs in poor sectors skills that allow them to create their own businesses.

Grameen USA Logo

Mifex is currently working with the Grameen Technology Center to leverage the power of Mifos, an open source Management Information System. Mifos will allow us to manage our borrowers and operations in an efficient and reliable way without having to pay the substantial licensing fees usually associated with financial management information systems. The official launch of the Mifos product is scheduled for November of 2006.

Equivida is an insurance company that is providing microinsurance for Mifex clients. Thanks to Equivida, microentrepreneurs can protect their businesses in the event of unexpected circumstances such as death or theft.

Credit Report is the credit bureau that scores and qualifies all of the Mifex borrowers' loans. Thanks to Credit Report, Mifex can mitigate risk by loaning to businesses with potential for growth, regardless of the existence of credit history.

Codemicro is a non-profit agency that specializes in the development of microentrepreneurs in the rural sectors of Ecuador. Mifex has partnered with Codemicro to expand our training and finance services in the rural sectors.

Azuay Chamber of Tourism

The Azuay Chamber of Tourism has a membership of over one thousand businesses in the Azuay province, home to the historic city of Cuenca, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We have formed a partnership with the Chamber to be able to promote their businesses to a global audience via the internet.
